Kenia's Road To Recovery
Donation protected
UPDATE: It is with my absolute gut wrenching grief that I provide an unfortunate update to all of Kenia's beloved family and friends. Sadly this evening, due to unforeseen complications, Kenia has passed away. We are all at a loss for words as this is most certainly not the outcome we were praying for. Kenia's daughter, sister and family need this assistance now more than ever as they will be planning a funeral in the upcoming days.
Any and all help that you can give is GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you again

Hello all! We are telling this story on behalf of our dear friend Kenia Cosio.
Kenia (born and raised in Mexico) was transitioning from a resident of Mexico to working her way towards becoming a Canadian citizen.
Tragically, on a Sunday in August, Kenia woke up feeling very tired and weak. She felt fatigue, had issues with walking, aggressive vomiting and intense pain in her left arm. Both of her legs and feet were incredibly swollen and painful. Kenia worked through the pain and suffered for about 8 days. Due to not having medical insurance, she was hesitant to seek medical help as the cost of medical care for non Canadian residents is very high.
After a few weeks of residual pain, Kenia finally had to seek medical attention where she was given some very upsetting news. Kenia underwent just about every test imaginable to narrow down the options. Finally after days of tests, Kenia was informed that she had suffered a massive heart attack and her lungs were retaining a dangerous amount of fluid.
Due to the heart attack having gone untreated, there was further damage to her body and her heart. Her first and most critical cardiologist diagnosis confirmed she was in heart failure which was the reason for her swollen limbs, fluid retention around the lungs and her pain. Her doctors in Canada noted that she would have to undergo ample more testing to determine the level of severity in the damage.
The end result for Kenia was 3 damaged arteries and the mandatory catheterization that would be required for quality of life and to eliminate heart failure.
With all of this, Kenia has unexpectedly had to return home to Mexico to seek the medical treatment and further testing required to get her back to health. All of the unexpected medical costs, flights and now heart surgery that she will undergo has unfortunately brought on some serious and difficult financial strains for Kenia and her family.
Kenia will undergo the first of her heart surgeries tomorrow ( November 30th) followed by a very difficult and slow road to recovery. Hopefully once Kenia has finalized everything, taken the much needed and well deserved rest, she can return back to Canada to continue on her journey of starting her life here with us (her family and friends).
We are seeking any possible donations to help this wonderful and kind hearted woman on this difficult journey she has ahead. We would like to help make this process as easy on her as possible. Kenia and all her family would like to THANK YOU all for even taking the time to read this and for your consideration.
Thank you and GOD BLESS.
