Spaghetti And Meatballs Emergency Surgery

Hi, I'm Katherine and I'm fundraising on behalf of my dear friend JC. JC's dachshund pup, Spaghetti And Meatballs was recently diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), unfortunately a disease found in dachshunds. This diagnosis came after Spaghetti was suddenly paralyzed in her hind legs, which is due to a prolapsed disc in her spinal cord, affecting her nerves, which also causes pain.

After scans and tests, Spaghetti was brought in for emergency surgery to her 10th and 13th thoracic vertebrae. Spaghetti is only 3 years old, and a devastating thing to endure in general, and especially in such a young dog. The hope is that this surgery has released some of the pain, and that this will correct the disc displacement, and with physical therapy and time, restore her mobility. Unfortunately, aside from sleepless nights of worry and sadness, this has left JC with veterinary bills of almost $10k.

No one plans for these things, and as someone who has spent time with Spaghetti, it's heartbreaking to see such a young dog in pain and have to go through such a traumatic episode. JC certainly did not have the expectation that such an ailment would suddenly set her back thousands of dollars. My hope is to raise funds for JC to alleviate some of this unexpected burden, both emotionally and financially.
