Hi, friends of the Struhs!

As many of you know, Nick Struhs is currently on the kidney transplant list and is waiting for a kidney. On November 15th after a yearly heart check-up, his doctors made the decision that he needed emergency open heart surgery at the University of Utah Hospital. Nick was just released after being in the hospital for 15 DAYS, many of those days spent in the ICU.

The medical team at University Hospital is optimistic. Nick’s recovery time from open heart surgery is expected to be 6-8 weeks if there are no complications. However, he will still be needing to continue with dialysis until a kidney is found for transplant. There are some extensive medical costs that they will need to cover for their out of pocket expenses as well as continuing healthcare needs.

With the holidays right around the corner, this medical trial could not have come at a worse time for the Struhs. But this could be an excellent opportunity for the rest of us to "pass around the hat" and provide some financial assistance as Nick gets home and is recovering.
