Jackie Sena- medical treatments and essentials

3/2/24 Update: Moms in the hospital for the 5th time during this cancer fight. She’s had a whirlwind of health changes these last few weeks and it’s ended in a spout of infection, fatigue, dehydration, and stress that’s brought her to need a few days of inpatient evaluation and treatments. She’s postponed her 6th treatment of chemotherapy until next week and being discharged today to rest and recover. She’s gotten good medical news lately and her tumors have hugely shrunk with treatments. Depending on test results next week she will have a few additional chemo and radiation treatments. A recent MRI showed no new damage to her spine and now with cancer treatments nearing the end she’s looking forward to PT and strength training in the hopes she will walk again. Life’s had its ups and downs lately but my mom’s still kicking cancers ass! We appreciate every thought, prayer, and donation.
12/29 Update: My mother, Jackie, is 3 of 6 chemo treatments down, drained and depleted but still has so much love for life and fight in her. Home from the hospital but staying isolated and trying to rest while working on building blood levels and staying healthy
12/14 Update: My mom’s back in the hospital, being treated for her uncontrolled pain, chemo related illness (low blood levels) and having more interventional testing. This past 10 days has been a whirlwind of events. Starting with having an adverse reaction to day 1 of chemo and needing to be transported to the ER after her vitals plummeted. She had a total of 3 chemo treatments in 4 days and 5 of 7 days in medical offices/treatments. This took a real toll on her body and mind. On Tuesday morning she elected to go back to the ER for her extreme and worsening pain. Today, after nearly 1 week I can see the light in her eyes and know she’s still up for a fight!
Hi, my name is Reba and I’m asking for help to support my mother Jackie Sena who’s recently been diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. The past few months have completely devastated our family while we watch our mom’s health rapidly declines and suffers daily with extreme pain. On 11/9 we found out that the cancer tumors had spread into her spine and shes paralyzed from the waist down. My mom spent nearly 3 weeks in the hospital as an uninsured cancer patient and has raked up so much debt that it’d be hard to even estimate the amount at this point. On 11/28 she was discharged from the hospital as she didn’t qualify for inpatient rehabilitation due to “failure to pay” and since her pain had been “controlled” (with around the clock pain meds) we were told we would have to just accept her new baseline and care for her at home.
My family is doing so much to care for her in these trying times but it taking a tole on all of us. We’re asking for donations to take some stress off of us for the costs of Rx medications, medical supplies/equipment, weekly personal care assistant, and out of pocket cost for providers to care for my mom until the end of the year until her insurance coverage starts January 1st.
My mom is truly the strongest and most selfless woman I’ve ever known. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers and consider helping in any way possible.
