Robby Bird has been a lifelong educator, friend and colleague in the Grand Haven community. Her 15+ year battle with thyroid cancer has been something she’s battled mostly privately until the last few years but she needs our support.

Her thyroid cancer has started to spread, mutate and become very aggressive and it got pretty scary for a few weeks but she has once again proven that she is a fighter and one strong woman! After almost all of October in the hospital at U of M and all of November in a rehab facility she’s finally home. She worked so hard on her PT and OT and showed this disease she’s not backing down! Her therapy plus the new chemo regimen seems to be doing its job and has gotten her back on her feet again which is quite incredible to be honest.

Her attitude is always positive and she is hopeful that there will be a more affordable option for slowing the progression of this awful disease available in the future. Robby is not ready to give up. She is on some cutting edge meds which come with a hefty price tag but between her mindset, the meds, physical therapy, occupational therapy and amazing advocates she’s bounced back from a pretty scary place. Robby has given so much to others throughout her life and has never asked for anything in return. We don’t think a life should come with a price tag so help us support her in her effort to fight! She once again is the last person to ask for help but will accept it if it’s offered. Keep the prayers coming!
