Niños Chuitinamit Luz - Children of the Light

Hi, We are Zarina & Mariana two friends that met in Guatemala this year sharing a deep passion for the Mayan culture, sacred ceremonies and healing practices. During the months spent around Lake Atitlán, it was inevitable to fall in love with our dear friend, a pillar of the community named Pablo Culum.

Pablo is a medicine man, an artist and a light in this world. He works in the community selling traditional items and handmade instruments like drums and rattles, using all of his profits to fund his organization that was founded 14 years ago called Niños Chuitinamit Luz "Children of the light". This project is currently supporting 46 orphaned children in his town of San Pablo La Laguna in Lake Atitlán Guatemala.

Pablo works to provide them with food, clothing and shelter. Placing them with single mothers in the community who also need financial support in order to provide for their children. Pablo prioritizes art as a form of expression for the children.

This holiday season we are calling our collective communities in to help us provide new shoes for each child at Niños Chuitinamit Luz. A pair of new shoes will cost roughly $40 per child. If any additional money is raised it will be used for clothing or school supplies! Help us make this holiday season special for the beautiful children of Chuitinamit Luz!
