Help Mark Beat Cancer!

When I first met Mark Deems, I had no idea I would someday call him “dad”. Over the years he has not only become my father in law, but one of my favorite people and someone I deeply admire.

If you know Mark and Carla, I’m sure you would agree that it would be hard to find a couple who is more hospitable or more generous with their time and resources than they are. When they have a lot, they give a lot, when they’ve had less, they still give a lot. They raised their kids to be generous, tough, servant leaders, and hard workers.

In Spring of 2023, Mark was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. He has faced months of radiation and chemotherapy, endured intense and unusual side effects, and is facing possible surgery to remove any cancer left after his final chemo round. He will know later in December what the outcome of all the months of treatment is and if surgery will need to happen. We are praying that no cancer will show on any of the scans and that he is declared cancer free!

I started this go fund me because Mark and Carla have had such a tough year and have so many expenses from the cancer treatments. Fighting cancer is truly a full time job and Mark has been unable to work since May. Carla went to school, studied hard, and put in 100’s of hours to become a phlebotomist. She is now working full time in hospitality at the hospital as well as her new job as a phlebotomist. I would love to help remove some of their financial pressure so she can spend more time caring for Mark and enjoy the time they have together.

All money given will go to help pay off their medical bills. We are so very grateful for each of you reading this and the friendship and impact you’ve had in Mark and Carla’s life. Above all, we ask that you would join us in praying for Mark and asking God to remove ALL cancer from his body.
