Marloe’s FIGHT - Rhabdoid Malignant Tumor

Donation protected
On November 27, 2023, our lives forever changed when we found out Marloe had (what we thought) was a 9 cm Wilm’s Tumor on her kidney. She had surgery to remove her kidney/tumor that same week. The original plan was to start 6 weeks of chemo to eliminate the 3 nodules that spread to her lungs and any remaining cancer. Doctors were extremely hopeful and survival rates were high.

A few days later, when the pathology reports came back, our lives, yet again, were changed!! Marloe was officially diagnosed with Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor. A very rare and aggressive tumor. Along with the updated diagnosis, we were informed Marloe has the germ-line mutation. Marloe’s survival rate drastically decreased. This news was soul crushing as we didn’t know what the future looked like. As things progressed, treatments started, things continued to get worse. With the updated diagnosis, the treatment plan went from 6 weeks of chemo to immediate radiation followed by 6 rounds of very intense, high toxicity chemotherapy called VDC-ICE. Marloe’s little body has struggled with the chemo. After every treatment, she was admitted to the ER from complications due to chemo. Marloe has experienced set back after set back. BUT she is a fighter, she keeps a smile on her face and continues to show us what it means to push through!

There’s still an incredibly long journey ahead as many important decisions will be made in the near future. Marloe will have another round of radiation treatment after chemotherapy. There’s the possibility of another surgery to remove the nodules on her lungs if the radiation therapy is unsuccessful. If those treatments aren’t successful, the family will make the decision on whether to choose a stem cell transplant, which is another high toxicity treatment.

I created this fundraiser for the family so they can focus on getting Marloe healthy and not have to worry about the financial burden. Since the original date of diagnosis, Lacey, Marloe’s mother, has been out of work. With other children in the home, this has caused a huge financial strain. The mortgage, utility bills, food, gas for the numerous doctor appointments and all the other expenses associated with her situation relies on one income.
Please share and donate if you’re able to. We need to get this little girl back to her best self!
