Concorde—Independent Film
Donation protected
Greetings,
My name is Ethan Van Der Merwe and I am a filmmaker from Portland, Oregon. I spent the last year writing and editing Concorde—A feature length film about two lifelong friends, James and Michael, who are forced to confront aspects of their friendship and relationship to their hometown, Portland, in the days leading up to Michael's departure for New York.
Concorde draws from my own experiences being from Portland and focuses on the often-strange period in the year after graduating from high school. It's a movie I had a lot of fun writing and reading and sharing with friends who gave me feedback. Now that the script is in a finished state, I am looking to raise money to see that Concorde can be made in the proper way.
Originally, I wanted to film Concorde on a $0 budget but I eventually came to the realization that I was asking far too-much of people without any compensation so I made the decision to start fundraising. Most of the funds that I am asking for will be used to compensate cast and crew for their time. It's a lot of work to make a movie, and I want to make sure that people are paid properly for the time that we will be asking them to commit. Some of the funds will also go to things like food, props, costumes, and other small items. All of the gear like microphones and cameras will be sourced by me. I've been making YouTube videos for a long time, go check them out at youtube.com/@ethodo
I hope that you might consider donating to help me see this vision to completion. Any amount helps. But I understand that a few short paragraphs isn't enough information! If you have any questions or are interested in hearing more, please reach out to me by email: ethodo @ gmail dot com
We are currently planning future fundraising events and working on a website/instagram so stay tuned for that. Thank you,
