GI Medical Bills for Kevin

Hi, my name is Allie Eckes and I am starting this Go Fund Me on behalf of my boyfriend, Kevin Costello. Kevin was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis back in July of 2022. This past May, Kevin had a terrible flare-up and was in and out of the hospital trying to find a solution. The doctors tried putting him on stronger medicine but ultimately it was past the point of that being able to work. He was admitted to Christ Hospital in late July where they decided that the removal of his entire colon was absolutely necessary. The surgery was a success but Kevin was so weak and sick at that point that his body wasn't able to handle such a major surgery without complications. He sustained a blood clot in his lung, the collapsing of the lower lobes of his lungs, and a painful abscess. These things drastically extended his stay in the hospital to 19 days that were very painful and difficult for him.

This process of removing his colon is still ongoing and requires three surgeries for a successful recovery. Kevin just had his second surgery earlier this month and it was a total success. His final surgery will take place around February or March of 2024. With that being said, the medical bills keep coming in with the number of surgeries and hospital stays.

If you have the privilege of knowing Kevin, you know how great of a guy he is, how strong he is, and how big of a heart he has. I wanted to make sure we could help him out in some way because I know he would never ask for this kind of help himself. This Go Fund Me will be used for the ongoing medical bills, therapies, follow-up scans, and whatever else he may need help with until these surgeries and recovery are complete. He is the biggest trooper and we are all so excited for him to finally start feeling back to normal again. If you feel inclined to donate at all, even a small amount, it would be greatly appreciated.
