Dennis "Torpedo" Toerpe support fundraiser

DENNIS “TORPEDO” TOERPE has a long and storied history in the music community, especially in the Tampa Bay area. Whether he knows it or not, he is a much-beloved character, deeply embedded into the music scene.

His musical instrument of choice is the mighty Hammond B-3 organ and he is a skilled Hammond organ technician. You may remember his infamous "Bandulance" organ transporter bringing his instrument to gigs as a member of JGLB, the Trunk Band, the Michael Allmann Band and the Lint Rollers to name but a few. (Please don't be offended if your band name isn't mentioned here.. I am one of Dennis's current bandmates and don't know his entire history... Dennis and Julie are tending to more important things than feeding me historical data for this GoFundMe!).

Until very recently, only a handful of their friends and associates have been aware that Dennis has been quietly fighting an aggressive and rapidly progressing cancer, and that Julie has been awaiting her acceptance of her own application for disability. Neither Dennis or Julie are able to work, but the bills continue to mount.

Dennis's has been a very expensive battle. Conventional cancer treatments have had minimal effect, and although he is in the care of in-home Hospice, Dennis and Julie have not given up hope. But they have spent thousands of dollars on outside-the-box, alternative treatments that are not covered by Medicare or insurance. They have exhausted their resources, and yet they did not ask for this fundraiser. Sometimes we just need to do what needs to be done.
