Hi, my name is Miko, I’m an 11-month-old pom puppy, with a heart full of love and a tail that wags with excitement. I've been having the time of my life, exploring the world one paw at a time.

On Saturday November 25, life took an unexpected turn, now I find myself facing a new adventure—one that involves healing and getting back to all the tail-wagging fun I love so much. My doggy doctor says I have a broken tibia and my paw was badly crushed, damaging all my tissue and its not looking so good. It's a bit overwhelming for a tiny pup like me, but my mommy says I am very brave and with your help, I know I can overcome this challenge!

What happened?

I got loose from my dog walker and started chasing a squirrel onto the road (don’t try this at home pups) I had a little mishap and got into a tussle with a car. Ouchie! Now, I'm hanging out at the animal hospital, fully sedated and on pain meds, it's not as much fun as chasing my tail.

The Healing Plan: Surgery

I overheard the doggie doctor telling mommy that if they don’t see any improvement to my paw after 6 more days, then an amputation is needed. It's like, "Whoa, hold on, what does that me for a little guy like me?"

My mommy won’t stop crying, and I can’t even give her kisses because of this plastic cone around my neck. It sounds a bit scary, but they promised they will take good care of me. I've been at the hospital for three days already, and I'll be here for another 6 days before they make their final decision. We're hoping my tissue starts to heal so they can save my leg and proceed with surgery to fix my broken bone (please keep us in your thoughts). The surgery and aftercare come with significant medical bills, and that's where your help would be greatly appreciated.
