In Loving Memory of "Chiqui"
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Sandra and I am one of Tia Chiquis many, many nieces and nephews. it is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news of my aunt dying. Mirta pajaro Lore, a.k.a. "Chiqui", immigrated to the US in 2012 to give her twin boys a better life and a chance at a bright future. my aunt was a single mom, very intelligent and a hard worker. She did anything and everything for her children. And her boys did not fail her. They both finished high school, got full scholarships to college and are now fully employed and contributing members of society. My aunt left her career, friends, and loved ones in Colombia in order to give her sons a better life. She worked a full time job here in the states and in her spare time, she took care of my younger cousins making them home-made foods and chasing them with a spoon to make sure they ate. Over the summer, my aunt began to feel unwell. When she went to the doctor in september, they diagnosed her with end-stage liver cancer and advised her that there was nothing they could do- no surgery, no chemo, no treatment at all because of how advanced the disease was. The doctor gave her 3-4 months to live and transfered her care to hospice. Early monday morning, my aunt took her last breath surrounded by her boys and sisters who she lived with. We are still in shock because it all happened so quick and she didnt even get the 3-4 months the doctor gave her, but we are thankful she is no longer suffering. We believe she is now soaring high in Heaven and in her own words, "Agarrada de la mano de dios" which means "Holding the hand of god". This GoFundMe will help my cousins victor and daniel cover her funeral costs here in the US and will help transport her body back to Colombia where she will be laid to rest alongside her mother and father, Papi chan and Abuelita Elena. We thank you in advance for all of your prayers, love and support.
