Help fund Bathory's lifesaving surgery

Bathory spent most of her adolescent life in a cold and scary kill shelter in Bakersfield, CA. A rescue here in Los Angeles called 'Pets Without Borders' was able to pull Bathory after I stepped up to foster her last summer of 2022. Within 24 hours of getting Bathory settled and safe, it was clear she was about to become a "foster fail".

Ask anyone who has met her, and they'll immediately agree with the sentiment that she is not just a regular dog; that she transcends that. I know every dog owner will say this about their pet but she truly is the most gentle, sweet, loving soul dog I have ever met and she genuinely exudes earth angel energy. Not only that, but Bathory is an amazing service dog that has assisted me psychologically for the past year. She is special beyond words and checks off every single box of a dream dog.

On October 28th, Bathory turned 2 years old. Only days after her 2nd birthday, we got the worse news a pet owner could hear. A growing mass on her rib-cage that was discovered, was diagnosed as a malignant and aggressive bone cancer.

The news has obviously flipped our entire world upside down, and for days the tears ceased to stop. The tears still come, but now, with some more strength, the goal here has never been clearer: We want to do everything we can to fight this and provide as long and healthy a life that we can give our sweet girl.

She is still full of so much life and so much love and we want to help sustain that.

The next step for Bathory is removing 3 of her ribs immediately. This includes the rib that her cancerous tumor has already destroyed and eaten away at. As you can imagine, the cost of major surgeries like removing a tumor, followed by cancer treatments such as chemotherapy are beyond overwhelming. Asking for help, especially now when it feels like the world is nothing short of being on fire, is extremely hard. But ultimately, we have to rely on community, friends, fellow pet owners, and any other generous individuals for financial help at this time.
