Elect Deirdre McCormack to Wicklow County Council

Hi, my name is Deirdre McCormack and I live in Blessington with my husband and our three young children. I work part-time for Jennifer Whitmore TD focusing on issues impacting West Wicklow.

I am honoured and excited to have been selected to contest the Local Elections in June 2024 for Wicklow County Council as a Social Democrats candidate for the West Wicklow – Baltinglass LEA.

In 2018 I founded the Community Pool for West Wicklow campaign and have been Chairperson since then, working with local schools, sports clubs, businesses, community groups, and National Governing Bodies such as Water Safety Ireland and Swim Ireland as well as Wicklow County Council.

My proudest moment of the campaign to date was working to bring a Pop-Up Pool to Blessington which enabled 600 children a week the opportunity to learn how to swim locally.

I believe I can be a strong and active voice for West Wicklow.

I am a passionate advocate for the development of facilities and services in our community but I need your help to get elected in 2024.

I am raising money to fund my local election campaign and your donation will help me reach as many people in West Wicklow as possible:

• €10 will help me pay for an advert on social media

• €50 will help me pay for 5 election posters

• €100 will help me buy 2,000 leaflets

The Baltinglass Local Electoral Area includes Blessington, Manor Kilbride, Lacken, Ballyknockan, Valleymount, Dunlavin, Hollywood, Donard, Grangecon, Stratford, Knockananna, Glen of Imaal, Baltinglass, Shillelagh, Tinahely, Carnew, Askanagap, Coolboy, Kiltegan and Rathdangan.

Donations can only be accepted from residents of the Republic of Ireland or Irish citizens abroad. I cannot accept donations over €1,000 from one person and cannot take an anonymous donation of over €100. I may have to contact you after your donation to confirm the details.

By donating, you confirm that you are an Irish resident or an Irish citizen living overseas and that you have not exceeded the maximum annual donation to the Social Democrats of €2,500.
