Wendell’s Recovery

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Samantha, Lana’s mom as most know me. On Monday, November 20, 2023, Christy received a phone call that no parent ever wants to get…There was an accident at work….

A little background, Wendell is 10th grade student at HGHS who just turned 16 November 5th. Not only is he an A/B student, he is also part of JROTC, with future ambitions of being in the Navy. As most 16yr olds dreams, he got a truck for his birthday to add to his collection of dirt bikes, and was very anxious to get his license. He obtained his first job at a trampoline place, Altitude, never for seeing what was to come…

His third day of work, November 20th, would change his life.

While jumping around, he did a flip and landed face first, which many of us have done, but for him this was different. The pressure of his head snapped his neck and he couldn’t move, he had no feeling from his nipples down. He was rushed to the Huntsville Hospital and had emergency surgery. They had to fuse C3-T1 and is paralyzed. This sweet, respectable, outgoing young man that I have watched grow for the last 8-9 years, just had his world flipped upside down in a split second doing something we hardly second guess letting our kids do, jumping on a trampoline.

Wendell was moved out of the NICU Sunday evening after 6 days, and is currently still in the hospital awaiting Workers Comp to get the ball rolling so they can get him into a Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Center. He will be going to Atlanta, GA, to Shepards Center, a very highly accredited rehabilitation center for this type of injury.

Wendell has the HARDEST journey of his life ahead of him, and with God as His Lord and Savior, we Believe ANY and ALL things ARE POSSIBLE! “Mark 10:27”

Wendells parents have such a long hard road ahead of them, making sure that Wendell gets everything and anything that he will need to be able to make his recovery as SUCCESSFUL as possible. There are many life changes that are going to have to occur with many expenses that of course was never planned: missing work, possibly sacrificing a job, making Wendell’s home handicap accessible (handicap ramp, doorways 36” wide, lowering counters/toilet/sink, installing handicap accessible shower, etc), traveling frequently with expenses (gas, tolls, food, housing), having home health/caregiver, getting a handicap accessible vehicle, having every day bills already, plus who knows what else.

I’ve created this Go Fund Me to raise as much money as possible for Wendell’s Recovery Journey.
ANY AMOUNT is appreciated,
EVERY SHARE of this is appreciated, EVERY PRAYER is appreciated.

I know my GOD is ALMIGHTY and can PROVIDE a WAY with just a mustard seed of FAITH. I pray for HEALING. I pray for a MIRACLE. I pray for STRENGTH. I pray for COURAGE. I pray for ENDURANCE. I pray for FINANCIAL RELIEF. I pray for GUIDANCE. I pray for a POSITIVE MINDFRAME. I pray for Emotional, Mental, Financial, and Physical SUPPORT. I PRAY that the Devil has no hold over Wendell, his situation, or his Family. I pray for his dear parents, who are walking this fight for themselves and her son.
I DECLARE A BREAKTHROUGH IN JESUS NAME!!!
