Savannah Phillips OU Global Brigade Fundraising

Hi, my name is Savannah Phillips and I am currently a Junior attending The University of Oklahoma. This summer, I will be traveling with the University of Oklahoma Medical Brigade 2024 to Honduras! Global Brigades is a non profit organization that works with students, volunteers, and medical professionals alongside local community health workers to help improve a communities health and economic goals. I will be working in a remote, rural, and under-resourced community in Honduras. In addition to Medical and Dental Programs, Global Brigades works to empower communities through economic development, sustainable healthcare, clean water, and sanitation projects. The mission of Global Brigades is too, "Inspire, mobilize, and collaborate with communities to achieve their own health and economic goals".

The reason why I joined OU Global Brigades is because I care about helping others. As I have grown up within the United States, I have had the privilege of never being in a situation where life necessities were inaccessible. I believe that every person deserves to have access to medical care and resources such as clean water, food, housing etc. I feel like this is an amazing opportunity to not only help others, but grow as a person myself and gain a different perspective on life, community, culture, and people in general.

Your donation would help me with the cost of my Brigade! I will be serving in Honduras for a week and your contribution would help with food, housing, travel fare, and any other resources needed to help me prepare to serve the people of Honduras.
