Irish Professional Footballers Benevolent Assoc.

The charity partner at this year’s PFA Ireland awards is the Irish Professional Footballers Benevolent Association. Formed in 2023, its aim to provide support for the welfare of ex-professional football players.

With assistance and advice on fundraising from the PFA Ireland and the FAI, the association will provide support for both male and female ex-professional players that are in a position whereby they require assistance around their physical or mental care needs.

The committee consists of 12 ex-professional players, including representation form the women’s game, and its officers are Harry McCue (Chairman), Martin Lawlor (Secretary), Mick Byrne (Treasurer) and Brendan Dillon (Legal Sec.).

The PFA Ireland are delighted to support the introduction of this association and the invaluable support it will undoubtedly provide for former professional players.
