Brian Morgan has rare cancer: Ewing's Sarcoma

Donation protected
After waking up on a normal Saturday morning, Brian was unable to fully feel his legs. When they got to the hospital in Amarillo the medical staff ordered a CT Scan; as images began loading my sister and nephew were immediately Care Flighted to Lubbock.

The extent of tumor was too great for the Amarillo medical team. Once in Lubbock, Brian was scheduled for emergency back surgery, the tumor was wrapped and pressing on his spinal nerves creating the numbness in his legs. Doctors removed part of his spine and vertebrae's, replacing them with a rod and pins, taking as much of the tumor as they could.

After 8 hours of surgery, we were given the news that Brian's tumor was cancerous, and still very much in his body, as it had grown to wrap his chest cavity wall. When Brian woke up from surgery he was told this news, and with a bright smile he replied, "I figured that's what it would be."

This incredibly brave, strong, bright young man received news that would, with most, make them shut down. Instead, my nephew worked day and night to recover with optimism from his surgery. Being able to walk and shower unassisted, and discharged to go home until the full pathology was available for diagnosis. He left the hospital FOUR days after his intensive surgery.

Pathology results came back to reveal that Brian has Ewing's Sarcoma. He is currently undergoing a bone marrow sample to determine the Stage he is in.

God has placed His hand of care and courage upon Brian. We know he is a child of God, and there is no shortage of Faith surrounding Brian's journey.

We are asking for your help to get him through this rare medical diagnosis. According to the American Cancer Society, only 200-250 cases are diagnosed in the US each year.

His mom, Holly, will have to be off work for each of his extremely intense chemo treatments, as he will be admitted each time. My sister also has two other children, one of which will need childcare during these times.

The hope for this fundraiser is to ease the financial strain for Holly, provide funds to create lasting memories for Brian and his siblings, we hope to allow them all to focus on Brian instead of worrying about the lights being shut off etc.

Thank you in advance to each of you, your support means more than you'll know.
