Christopher Michael Clay (46), of Farmington, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday November 25, 2023. Chris was born to Debbie Yoder and Bryan Clay on June 6, 1977 in Reading, PA. He graduated from Wilson High School in West Lawn, PA where he was the starting goalie of the high school soccer team that won the State Championship in 1992 before attending his dream school, Penn State University. Upon graduating from college he moved down to Atlanta, GA with a group of his dearest friends and enjoyed many great years living in the ATL with his friends, as well as meeting his wife.

During his time there he worked as an elementary school teacher and then later shifted his career by getting a Masters in IT from American Intercontinental University.

After getting married, Chris and his wife moved back up North to Connecticut to be closer to family and he began a new career working in IT in the Insurance Industry for companies including Travelers, Chubb, Axis and Fortitude Re.

He was a sports enthusiast who loved watching his beloved Philadelphia Phillies and as well as a big fan of his alma mater, Penn State. He spent many opening days at Citizens Bank Park to watch his team start the season and spent every Saturday in full PSU gear watching his Nittany Lions. He was also an avid collector of all things sports related, as displayed in his man cave basement that he meticulously built to show off all his prized collectibles. But above all, he loved coaching and cheering on his three children in all their sports and activities as well as organizing youth sports for the Farmington community.

Chris is survived by his wife Adele Iskra Clay, his three amazing children Linnea, Chase and Emory and their dog Rocky. He is also survived by his mother Debbie Yoder, aunt, uncle, cousins, in-laws and nieces and nephews.

Chris’ family will have a private funeral service. Thankful for the incredible outpouring of love, support and compassion from friends and the community, we have established the LCE Clay Memorial Fund. This fund will honor his legacy and passion for his three favorite things: family, sports and education. All funds will be directed to these three causes.
