Hi everyone my name is Li Brooker other people known me by my 2nd name Ayla I am reaching out to everyone who has a big heart and able to help us financially. I am raising a fund for my younger sister whose been very sick and suffered a major stroke in hospital here in Australia she is now left sided paralysed and non verbal, she requires full care on a 24/7 settings. This fundraiser will help with her repatriation and medical bills.

It all started with a 7 days history of head ache and a diagnosis of meningitis afterwards, she suffers catastrophic stroke which led her to be bed bound, and for that requires full time care.

My sister is not Australian citizen she was here on student visa as dependent and have a limited medical insurance. So I am raising this funds and knocking at everyone’s heart for her repatriation back to the Philippines because she is not Australian citizen she has no funding for a 24/7 cares in Australia and also no funding will be given to her for national disability insurance scheme which is the one where using in Australian Medicare system, although she has coverage for repatriation thru her insurance and we as her family can put towards the bill of repatriation it is very expensive, we are still needing help for this medical transportation bill.

Any little help is a big help.

My sister Myla or Waga as we call her is 37 years old, she is a fighter , a warrior a mother a sister a friend.

She came to Australia as student healthy and very bubbly and funny, she came here to seek a better life and opportunity and also to be able to be with me as a family since our parents are both in heaven already.

She was living her life here in Australia as a normal person working enjoying her life with her family. Working at coles , working as a laundry assistant in nursing home. One day she got sick and got diagnose with SLE (Lupus) she got depressed and sick and unable to work normally at where she was working she was literally in bed for 3 months unable to walk and just in bed, it got her down thinking that she may die and just being very sad and lonely. Then she had a breakthrough she ended up going to a private nephrologist and give her some pain relief and steroids, and basically got better with her Lupus and be able to walk and live normal again. She used to work for me as a cleaner she could earn money again and walk and work sometimes she struggles with her lupus low immune system. Sometimes she is ok but sometimes she is not ok in the last 3 months before she got hospitalised she was having difficulty with her conditions . One day she was complaining of headaches and just take medications and just leave and not seeing a doctors or GP. But on August 16, 2023 she was crying and could not relieve her head aches with some pain medication so I told her to present to emergency department. She started in ED for a week and did all the test and scans which they could not see much. Drs in the hospital did a lumbar puncture which they found Meningitis. She requires isolation and treatment for her condition while inpatient in hospital she suffers a major stroke that lead to her condition now being left sided paralysed and non verbal. She is inpatient in hospital for atleast 5 months now she is still unstable. We as Christian believes in complete healing and believing for her complete recovery, now we are in the process of taking her home back to our home country to where she will be care for by our beloved family and hopefully be able to recover slowly.

We are knocking in every one’s heart to help us when u can to help take my sister back to the Phillippines. This fundraiser is to help for her repatriation and also medical bills when she arrived in the Philippines.
