Help a Senior Retiree who saves cats pay vet bills

Hello everyone,

My name is Jill and I'm helping coordinate this fundraiser for a senior, retired gentleman named Bernard who owns a small cat shelter in The Ponds, Sydney.

Bernard's shelter, the Save A Pet Foundation, is a registered non-profit charity operating since 2020. The shelter has 30-40 cats at any given time and typically rehomes 6-7 cats a month.

However, in the last month, Bernard has been inundated with stray kittens and their mothers; and cats whose owners no longer want to keep their cats. These cats are neither de-sexed, microchipped nor vaccinated. Bernard has been covering the expenses for all of them so far.

Making things worse, some cats were infected with Povo Virus and infecting some of the non-vaccinated cats and kittens. Bernard's vet bills of taking these sick cats to and from the vet have skyrocketed to $4,000. These expenses DO NOT include food and litter.

Our goal is help raise $1,000 for Bernard to take off some of the financial pressure.

The volunteers and I are doing all we can to support Bernard emotionally, physically and financially. However, we need further support from the wider community. Thus, we humbly ask for any additional help you can give Bernard to ease this financial burden. To help a lovely man who is passionate about cats and giving them a good life.
