Nine. The number of days my brother has spent with his newborn daughter outside of the hospital. She is 7 weeks old.

Since being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis several months ago, Collin has been in and out of the hospital, in an unbelievable amount of pain, and lost 1/3 of his body weight. After struggling to heal and trying several courses of treatment, doctors ultimately decided to remove his Colon. Yesterday was his first surgery. It was "one of the worst cases they had ever seen." Over the next 6-12 months, he will have 2 more surgeries and a long road to recovery.

On behalf of Collin, his wife, Anna, and their sweet baby girl, Rowan, we are asking for your help. It has been a tough road and a burden on them as new parents.

Funds would go towards:

Out-of-pocket medical expenses: Their current financial strain will only grow in the new year.
Ongoing care: Following hospital confinement, Collin will need ongoing care in the form of physical therapy and in-home assistance as well as nutritional support and medications to adjust to post-surgery life.
Essentials for a new baby: The addition of a new baby adds both joy and complexity to their lives. We all know it takes a village, but it also costs money.

Our goal is to allow Collin and Anna to focus on health, well-being, and bonding as a new family of three. No amount of money can give them back the time they have already lost, but it can ensure their future is a little brighter.
