My name is Katie Conway Walsh, and I’m wanting to raise money to help out my parents, Dennis and Leana, for Christmas.

My dad and step-mom have been down on their luck in recent weeks. While they don’t like to dwell on the negatives that pop up in life, they have had a number of unfortunate events that have caused setbacks. Given how grateful and positive they are you would never know what has been going on.

But in short (and without giving too much information about their private life), their refrigerator needed replacing, pipes in their house burst which meant floor replacement and a hotel stay, their car needed repairing, Leana’s parents are dealing with declining health so there’s been a few trips up to Canada plus the cost of care for my dad at home while she’s away, and even a few health issues with my dad to add to it.

My heart goes out to them because all of this has happened back to back in such a short amount of time. They have truly been taking every hit with grace and positivity which puts me in awe as I watch from the side.

I realize the financial portion has been the biggest burden and worry which is what sparked the idea to try and help them out as a community!

With Christmas slowly approaching, I would love to try and gather some donations, of any amount, that could help ease their minds with these unexpected expenses. They are the best people we know and we also know they would never ask for financial help so this will be 100% anonymous. My plan is to type up a letter saying how much they are loved and appreciated and in it will include all the donations as a money order. I will find a sneaky way to get it to them too.

They are such selfless people so I’m really excited to return the favor with an outpour of support and a little financial help from the people that love them best!

We would be so thankful for anyone thats willing to help out financially. Also, any extra love and prayers their way would be much appreciated!!
