As many of you know, Coach Andy Diamond unexpectedly passed away this past January.

Although Coach Andy was like family to many of us, Jackson Memorial Hospital would only release him to his actual relatives. Unfortunately, no one came through and Coach Andy was classified as a 'John Doe' for 2 weeks. We only had just a few days before he was set to be cremated as a John Doe and I was NOT going to let that happen! Fortunately, with Coach Andy being Jewish, we reached out to the Jewish Federation for help. They immediately took the case and went into action. Coach Andy was quickly claimed due to a DNA test and his body was released to us and sent for burial preparation. The Jewish Federation, my cousin Sammy Maya and I, all quickly came together and covered the cost for Andy's plot and burial.

However, in the Jewish religion, the person is buried without a headstone and one is not placed until the 1 year anniversary of their death. Coach Andy's 1 year anniversary is coming up and we need the community's help to have the headstone Coach Andy deserves created. No amount is too small and all contributions will go towards the headstone. Lets give Coach Andy a final resting place he deserves!

Once available, I will be sure to share the final details on the unveiling of the headstone.
