Medical expenses and bills

Hi there! My name is Rachel Millard. I am the daughter of Gary and Judi Millard. On November 21st my father woke up not feeling well, as the day went on he began to feel worse so we decided to have my brother take him to the walk in. His vitals were o.k. and the doctor that had seen him said he believes he pulled a muscle in his back. He was given a muscle relaxer and sent home. The next day his pain was excruciating and he had lost all strength to move on his own. An ambulance was called and was taken to Wilson Hospital. Upon arrival he was taken for a CT scan to find that he had a very serious aneurysm of his aorta by his belly. His kidney’s were shutting down and his pain was debilitating. They rushed him into surgery with less than 30% chance to make it out alive. 7 long exhausting hours later, the surgeon returned to let us know my father miraculously made it through surgery but was in very critical condition and everything needed to be taken hour by hour. Most people that have an aortic aneurysm collapse and don’t even get the chance to make it to the hospital, so to have my father here still is a miracle. If my dad makes it home someday, he will have a very long road ahead of him, and will not live a “normal” life. Unfortunately, this is extremely life changing. He will have limited mobility, worsened breathing, kindey dialysis and countless appts and in home care.

Our mom has been very dependent on my father due to health issues. From getting her to appts, and all the errands and house work, my dad was her main source of help. So now, us siblings are stepping up and trying our best to cover all the things they need done to their home to make it livable to accommodate to their health conditions. Between a new heating system, windows, insulation, roof repairs, and a ramp needing to be installed, there is also an astronomical financial set back in regards of medical expenses and bills. Life around us doesn’t stop and neither do bills.
Unfortunately, my siblings and I cannot do this all on our own, because if we could we would without hesitation, so we are asking the help from our community to help with these ongoing expenses. My parents have always helped us and so many others in need, truly the biggest hearted people I know, also so selfless.

We want to thank everyone for all the continued prayers, hugs, calls, messages and all the love being sent to our family. Please continue to root for our dad! He is such a fighter and we tell him so many people are sending him their love.
