Hey Everyone, I hope you're all doing okay.

It's not easy for me to share this, but I need to reach out to you because my heart and soul are heavy right now. In all my years I think I never showed fear, or sadness or anger or despair in public but now is one of those times that I cannot hold back as Life seems to have thrown some unexpected challenges this way and I could really use your support for my amazing mom, Ozell Gertman.

My mom has been my Mom and Dad since I was four, with an incredible amount of love and strength. We've faced our fair share of tough times in only the past fews years, from the heartbreak of our family home burning down with my mom inside (Though she got out of course) to my brother's brain surgery and my mom's open-heart surgery, not so long ago.

Through it all, she's stayed strong, caring, cool, and funny, never asking for anything more than the love of her kids and faith in God.

So recently this took a drastic turn for the worse. Just a few days ago My Mom was not feeling so good and asked to be taken to the hospital...What was thought to be a blood clot in her heart at first, was a blood clot in her lung... The doctor dissolved it and sent her home. Just a few days later she was taken back to the hospital because she was not feeling well nor breathing well. After many tests and a failed attempt to give her blood plasma (because the machine they used was unknowingly malfunctioning), They gave her an intense MRI and other rollercoaster of tests and found that the back of her heart was damaged, Very damaged. They found that 3 of 4 parts of her heart was very tired and distended and damaged beyond repair. They started her on oxygen therapy and after a long meeting with her surgeon with a 5 other surgeon team, they decided there was nothing they could do and sent her home with 4 oxygen tanks and some prescriptions to pick up asap.

As it was Thanksgiving Day she was not able to collect the pills for a couple days.and here we are. She got her medicine in the end but she is not well and can breath but now only with the oxygen tanks therapy at home.

I am extremely destroyed by this situation and This news hit us hard, as we weren't ready for the emotional and financial toll it would take.

We need to make adjustments to her home to make life more manageable for her, and I'm reaching out to you all for support with medical and personal expenses and these necessary changes.

On top of that, I want to be by her side during this tough time—something we've missed out on for far too long.

I know it's not my usual style to ask for help, but the love I have for my mom is pushing me to swallow my pride and reach out.

Every little bit helps, and your contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge impact on our journey through these unexpected challenges.

No es fácil para mí, compartir esto, pero necesito acercarme a vosotr@s porque mi corazón y mi alma están apesadumbrados en este momento. En todos mis años creo que nunca mostré miedo, tristeza, enojo o desesperación en público, pero ahora es uno de esos momentos en los que no puedo contenerme, ya que la vida parece haberme presentado algunos desafíos inesperados de esta manera y, realmente me vendría bien vuestro apoyo. Mi increíble mamá, Ozell Gertman.

Mi mamá, ha sido mi mamá y mi papá desde que tenía cuatro años, con una increíble cantidad de amor y fuerza. Hemos enfrentado una buena cantidad de momentos difíciles solo en los últimos años, desde la angustia de nuestra casa familiar incendiada con mi mamá adentro (aunque ella salió, por supuesto) hasta la cirugía cerebral de mi hermano y la cirugía a corazón abierto de mi mamá, no hace tanto tiempo de esto.

A pesar de todo, ella se ha mantenido fuerte, cariñosa, tranquila y divertida, y nunca ha pedido nada más que el amor de sus hijos y la fe en Dios.

Recientemente esto empeoró drásticamente. Hace apenas unos días mi mamá no se sentía muy bien y pidió que la llevaran al hospital... Lo que al principio se pensó que era un coágulo de sangre en su corazón, era un coágulo de sangre en su pulmón... El médico lo disolvió y la envió a casa. Pocos días después la llevaron de nuevo al hospital porque no se sentía bien, ni respiraba facilidad. Después de muchas pruebas y un intento fallido de darle plasma sanguíneo (porque la máquina que usaron estaba funcionando mal sin saberlo), le hicieron una resonancia magnética intensa y otra montaña rusa de pruebas, descubrieron que la parte posterior de su corazón estaba dañada, muy dañada.

Hallaron que 3 de 4 partes de su corazón estaban muy cansadas, distendidas y afectadas sin posibilidad de reparación. Le iniciaron oxigenoterapia y después de una larga reunión con su cirujano y otros 5 más especialistas médicos decidieron que no podían hacer nada. La enviaron a casa con 4 tanques de oxígeno y algunas recetas para recoger lo antes posible.

Como era el Día de Acción de Gracias, no pudo recoger las pastillas durante un par de días. Y aquí estamos. Al final recibió su medicamento, pero no se encuentra bien y puede respirar, pero ahora solo con la terapia con tanques de oxígeno en casa.

Estoy extremadamente abrumada por esta situación, esta noticia nos afectó mucho, ya que no estábamos preparados para el costo emocional y financiero que conllevaría.

Necesitamos hacer ajustes en su hogar para hacerle la vida más manejable, y me dirijo a todos vosotr@ para que me apoyen en los gastos médicos y personales y con estos cambios necesarios.

Además de eso, quiero estar a su lado durante este momento difícil, algo que nos hemos perdido durante demasiado tiempo.

Sé que no es mi estilo habitual pedir ayuda, pero el amor que tengo por mi mamá me está empujando a tragarme mi orgullo y tenderle la mano.

Toda ayuda, y su contribución, por pequeña que sea, tendrá un gran impacto en nuestro viaje a través de estos desafíos inesperados.

Quienes me conocen bien saben que esto no es fácil para mí. Pero en este momento, lo publico y les pido ayuda para apoyar a mi increíble madre, Ozell Gertman.
