Noah's Angels
Hello my name is Kristine Muise and I'd like you to meet my nephew Noah. He's your average 3 year old snugly cuddly toddler. He enjoys Disney movies, super heroes and watching the Patriots play football. He also enjoys story time with his big sister (Kiana). She's is an avid reader and enjoys reading to him and her mother (Katelyn Muise) That had all changed recently. A few days after Christmas Noah exhibited some balancing problems and started vomiting. My sister took him to the pediatrician right away. The pediatrician referred Noah to a Boston hospital for an emergency MRI on a Wednesday and by that Friday he was having a tumor removed from his brain stem. The surgeon said that the tumor was very vascular and that it had its own blood supply so Noah had needed a few transfusions. He is regaining strength with each passing day as his mother and sister are too. Cancer affects the whole family. He has started physical therapy for some slight motor function loss in his hands and feet. He's happiest hugging his big Baymax stuffed friend from the movie "Big Hero 6" while covering his eyes when a nurse or doctor come in. He knows he will get an ouchy but he doesn't understand why.
The hospital staff have been phenomenal! From maintenance to the medical staff absolutely amazing. Noah wanted to take his baymax and spiderman into surgery with him and they allowed it. When the surgery was completed, lying next to him in ICU were his friends only Now.... both had a hospital wristband like Noah and baymax had a patch on his head just as Noah did. They also saved the curls they shaved from Noah's head and gave them to his mother. All without asking. They just did it.The surgeon also came in both Saturday and Sunday on his day off to check on him. Above and beyond and we are so Very Thankful.
Noah has another surgery coming up this week. They will place a feeding tube because he's not eating well and will be starting 6 weeks of radiation therapy soon. He will also have a port placed under his skin on his chest for the 6 to 12 months of chemotherapy he will start when he is well enough after the radiation therapy. They are also going to do a spinal tap to see if the cells have spread to his spine. There is a long road ahead. They will be traveling back and forth to Boston daily for treatments. My sister has worked full-time since she was of age but she needs to be with her baby boy just as much as he wants his mama. That is why I am reaching out and asking for humanity's help. Any donation will help and if money is not something you are able to donate then we would appreciate prayers, positive thoughts and support by sharing Noah's story please. Making you one of Noah's Angels. Thank you
