Alex Toast: Fund "Cannacentric" EP and merch

Good day unto you, aye! First and foremost, THANK YOU for taking the time to read about my fundraiser and for considering supporting me in my musical endeavors!

I'm Alex Toast: a longtime musician and cannabis professional, currently residing in rural Minnesota. Let it be known... I LOVE helping other people learn more about cannabis! Over the years I've written a few educational cannabis songs, and now I need your help to make a bluegrass-themed EP out of them!

Both catchy and informative, these songs aim to spread awareness about weedy topics like the endocannabinoid system ("The Endocannabinoid Song"), the DEA's current inappropriate scheduling of cannabis as a Schedule 1 narcotic ("Schedule 1"), and some specifics about Minnesota's new recreational cannabis laws ("My Home State Went Legal"). The tunes have a vibe of School House Rock meets Weird Al, and I think delivering them with the added backdrop of banjo, fiddle, and upright bass is the way to go.

Recording has begun and will continue at Carpet Booth Studios in Rochester, MN - the same studio known for their work with such acts as Yung Gravy and Charlie Parr. The final project will be mastered by grammy-winning producer Brett Huus of Sound Strations Audio Productions and released on all major streaming platforms in (hopefully, with your help) early 2024.

I hope that having a formal release of these songs will assist my resume as I attempt to navigate being booked as entertainment at various cannabis shindigs throughout the legalization process.

In addition to the music itself, I seek to launch a line of Alex Toast-themed merchandise that includes standard t-shirts, stickers, and beanies, as well as a line of useful products: lighters, med-tainers, and rolling papers, all decorated with Alex Toast logos! I'll be able to sell these items both at live events and on my website, making this side hustle more financially viable.

Launching this project is a bit overwhelming and costly, but I'm confident that with your help we can continue to change the world in a positive way. If I should be so lucky, anything extra than that that I make from this project will go towards the production of my next ready-to-record studio album, entitled "The Light You'd Lost".
