Dear Friends,

It is with a heavy heart that we share this news with you. Our good friend Gene Garces unexpectedly suffered a major stroke (left MCA) on Thanksgiving leaving him paralyzed on his right side and very limited speaking abilities. Doctors were unable to remove the blood clot that caused his major stroke and Gene is currently in the hospital on medication awaiting further treatment. The doctors are optimistic given his athleticism and young 49 years of age, but there is a very narrow window of time within which to get him the intensive rehabilitation he needs to rebuild neural connections.

Unfortunately, Gene was in between employment with limited insurance and sadly his medical expenses will mosty be paid out-of-pocket by him and his family. In order to provide the necessary care Gene needs right now, loving friends and family are humbly reaching out to you for help. Your kind generosity will go towards daunting medical bills, acute and long-term rehabilitation expenses, lost wages, and everything else necessary to bring Gene back to good health.

For those of you that know Gene, he is a very talented athlete and tennis player, one of the most kind, generous, thoughtful, and caring people you will ever meet. He is always the first to lend a helping hand. He helps his wife Aomy run a family restaurant, coaches at a local tennis club with friends, a part-time IT guru, and cares for his elderly mother. He is surrounded by friends that love him and are doing all they can to help, but it's still not enough. Please pass this along to friends, family, and anyone who would like to make a difference.
