Hi, my name is Nicole and I am fundraising for Paris Vig's newly widowed wife Christi. I had the honor of knowing Paris through my friend Christi. He was one of a kind, passionate, loyal, God loving, as Christi says "looks mean, but squishy inside" and overall he was such an interesting person. Christi tragically and suddenly lost her husband Saturday afternoon on November 25th, 2023.
Paris and Christi were so inspiring to others and also our church community. Their love for God was contagious and they were not afraid or ashamed to show it. During church services we would always hear Paris shouting an "amen" or "hallelujah" and raising his hands in praise. Paris loved to worship. He was such a kind and loving person and it was such an honor to know him.
In 1998, Paris turned his life around for the good and surrendered his life to God. In October 2022, Paris was diagnosed with a brain tumor. As tragic of a diagnoses something like this can be, it did not alter his faith and love for God. Not many people knew of this diagnosis because he didn't want sympathy. I think that truly shows the amount of strength this man held.
Paris and Christi got together in July of 1998 and were married February 23rd, 2003. They have celebrated 25 years together. They have spent their lives together. Anyone who has ever met them together as a couple, could immediately see the bond they shared. The love they shared was undeniable. Paris has 2 children and Christi and Paris have 1 angel baby. He is also a grandfather of 2 young children.
Paris loved his job as a fire sprinkler installer/machinist. When he would talk about his job, he would say "saving lives and property is what I do." Christi always got a kick out of it and adored his sense of humor and passion. He always seemed to have a smile on his face. He was such a generous, loyal, humble, football loving, and protective husband, father, friend, and so much more.
Unfortunately after his tumor diagnosis, he lost his job due to health reasons. Paris was an excellent provider but this job loss caused financial struggles. But that didn't stop Paris, he still pushed and strived to provide for his wife and self; but there was still a present financial strain. Christi is now faced to pick up the pieces of her broken heart and try to navigate providing on her own.
As anyone would be, Christi is simply beside herself. I don't think there are quite the words to express the hurt and devastation she is going through. Paris is all she knows. All she knows is gone. There's nothing that can bring her husband back. Only with time will her aching heart learn to cope and carry on. In the meantime, I want to be able to take some stress off of her. I hope as a community we can come together and help her not only emotionally but monetarily as well. After life expenses is now something she is faced with, along with just trying to get through each moment. We may not be able to take away the emotional pain she feels but if everyone can just come together, we can at least take away one less worry for now. Every little bit helps. I just ask that we all lend a helping hand in such a tragic event.
Thank you so much for reading. There is so much more that could be said about these amazing people.
