Fire Recovery

Greetings! My name is Natasha Griffin, and I am the CEO of Kinder Kollege Learning Center located at 1605 Hill Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32202. For over 12 years, our center has been a nurturing environment for hundreds of children and families, supporting their early childhood education journey with love and care. Unfortunately, on March 21, 2024, we faced an unexpected disaster when the compressor in our newly acquired LG refrigerator malfunctioned, causing a destructive fire in our kitchen. Although the incident occurred at night and thankfully resulted in no harm to our staff or the children, the impact has been tremendous. We now have 7 dedicated employees out of work and over 50 families who have had to relocate their children to alternative centers. Despite having a 3-million-dollar liability policy, it did not cover any of the contents, leaving us with a significant financial burden. As a result, we are reaching out to our community and other resources for assistance during this challenging time. The extensive renovation required for our building will keep us closed until July 2024. We have been tirelessly searching for a temporary location to continue our services but have been unsuccessful due to stringent zoning guidelines that require any new premises to have a costly sprinkler system. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful impact. Your support will help us immensely as we work towards rebuilding our center and providing a safe, nurturing space for our children and families once again.
