On Friday, January 5, Amy was taken to the emergency room where the doctors discovered she had a stroke. By Sunday, January 7, the surgeons performed a life saving brain surgery called a craniotomy.
Amy survived the emergency surgery and spent 5 days in ICU. She is now in the advanced brain and spine care unit and is receiving continued care.
Amy has made amazing progress and we are so grateful to say that her personality and incredible sense of humor are fully intact. She has been making family and friends laugh at every visit and is still “Amy”. We are so grateful for her incredible progress so far and we are happy to support her on her healing journey.
Amy will soon be transferred to a rehabilitation facility where she will receive continued care and intensive physical therapy. Given what Amy has been through the last week, and the long road ahead, we want Amy to be able to dedicate her focus on healing and recovery, and not worry about hospital bills and finances.
Thank you everyone for all your support through donations, prayers, and kindness. The outpouring of love we have already received is proof of Amy’s undeniable positive impact on everyone she meets.
