Season of Giving for Someone who is well deserved, Jamie Schmidt!
Jamie is one of our musical community of friends. I got to know him well a couple of years ago when he asked me for a ride to one of the venues we frequent. He was very enthusiastic about going to see his favorite group of singers and musicians, us! On the ride back home, Jaime held onto the feelings of exuberance. His excitement to support the musical community and television shows continues today. It doesn't stop there. At a moment in my life when I needed help, Jamie generously asked me to move into his second bedroom until I got back on my feet. That's when I found out how brilliant he is. He never complained. All he wanted was to support us by attending our shows. Until one day, I found out he began having cellulitis on his leg. The fear was overwhelming. Until, one day, Jaime collapsed and was taken to ER. The leg had deteriorated. An amputation was prevalent. This became a delicate matter. Our church pastors visited Jaime at the hospital. With the loving care of the church and closest friends, he had the amputation and to the doctors’ disbelief, he recuperated quickly. He soon was sent home with 24-hour nurse care. Nurse care is crucial to his well-being.
Jamie is an orphan. His family all passed away. He has only the music community as his family in Los Angeles. His medical expenses are astronomical. His finances are diminishing. His fear for his life is strong. He has maintained his apartment and expenses until now on his own and now is asking for help. Ashamed as he is to ask, I write in a plea to help Jamie. We appreciate your support. Any amount is accepted.
With God’s Blessings,
Nora Paradiso, a friend
