A very dear friend of mine (my best friend, in fact) and her husband recently lost her house to toxic mold. The entire house and like 95% of all of their possessions are gone. 

If this were not enough, her husband is over 50, working two jobs, and sadly, my friend has several very serious health conditions that prevent her from working. 

After massive legal battles, they are out a lot of money, and currently homeless (but "living") in an airbnb, and I have wanted to do this for them for almost a year as things have not improved, and sadly, she has had other health issues spring up. Any time that they get any sort of ground, it all gets knocked back out from under their feet. 

It's honestly horrifying to watch, and so, so sad. He will have to retire soon, and they still don't have a home, are deeply in debt, and every time something else goes wrong with her health, they have to pay more into trying to treat her. 

They've had "some help" - but mostly it's been little bits here and there compared to the amount that they need.
