Dublin Marathon
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of The Jenna Wilkins Foundation and every donation will help.
On 30th October I shall be running the Dublin Marathon with my sister Louise. Eleanor, Alana and Jensen will also be lacing up their shoes and running 10km. As we wear away the pavements in Dublin & London we are hoping to raise funds in aid of the Jenna Wilkins Foundation.
The Jenna Wilkins Foundation has been set up in memory of a close family friend Jenna who lost her battle against breast cancer at the tender age of 25. Jenna was a force of nature and despite her short time with us she left an everlasting impression. Her family are determined that Jenna’s love of life is shared with all and have created a foundation in her name. The aims of the foundation are twofold: (i) to provide care packages to others undergoing cancer treatment; and (ii) reflecting the fact that Jenna was training to become a teacher, the foundation seeks to fund and support experiences and learning equipment for children with special educational needs.
This fundraising will fund the Jen’s Den Project which creates a safe space in a local primary school for children dealing with trauma & loss. The Foundation will be funding a counsellor and a therapy dog one day a week and help children overcome physical & mental barriers.
We - Eleanor, Alana, Jensen Louise and Fiona (“Team Jenna”) are now charged with the task of fundraising and supporting this amazing charity so that Jenna’s memory lives on and beyond.
