Celebration of life for Ileana Violetta Peralta
Donation protected
This GoFundMe is for the family of Ileana Peralta. We need some help with the costs of giving our beautiful Ileana the send off she deserves. Ileana was the sweetest and spiciest Gemini you could have met. You are considered to be a very lucky if you got the chance to encounter the force that Ileana was. She may have been small but she was mighty. Mightier, stronger, more brave than all of us. 29 year old Ileana did not let her Epidermolysis bullosa get her or the cancer that kept trying to bring her down. Epidermolysis bullosa also know as "Butterfly skin" or "EB" is a rare genetic condition which causes the skin to blister and shear in response to minimal friction and trauma. Ileana did not have an easy life. She was constantly wrapped in gauze since she can remember which would make her hot and itchy due to it rubbing against her blisters and fragile skin. Even with constant blisters and whatever pain she was dealing with she would find a way to have a better time than everyone else in the room. Let everyone else be complaining about how hot the weather was or how far of a walk something was, Ileana always found a way to make it, most of the time faster than the whole group. Everyone who knew her knew that the life expectancy for someone with EB was shortened but knew that Ileana would surpass anything and everything because that is just who she was. When her cancer in May 2021 came up we were all worried but knew that she was a champ and could overcome anything and she did. This tough young women who everyone mistook for a young girl went into that cancer treatment head first. She took whatever medication they gave her, had surgeries and to top it off had her right leg amputated. You could not stop Ms. Hot Wheels coming through on her scooter running over toes and backs of ankles. On Monday February 27th Ileana was brought to the ER because of a bad cough she had and due to it she wasn't able to eat or move. Ileana had lost so much energy and like everything else we expected this to be like every other battle she fought. She'd fight and somehow make it out stronger than before, most things us regular shmegular folks could not handle, she would. We were told on Tuesday the next day that her cancer spread into her lungs and that was what was causing her horrible cough. She would have needed two surgeries to try and help with no guarantees but unfortunately this time she wasn't strong enough. With all the love and warmth she emitted into this world, it came back into her hospital room at Stanford Hospital in Pleasanton Ca. As soon as you walked into the lobby of the hospital it was filled with love, warmth, tears, and laughter. People waiting patiently for their turn to say goodbye to our daughter, big sister, cousin, best friend, inspiration. We said goodbye to our light who weirdly enough left this world to only make it brighter on February 28, 2024. We will always feel her presence and love and live the way she did, to the fullest.
