Hi, I’m Daniel.
I’ve been a film student for the last three years or so, I’ve written and directed two student films.
I have always been deeply passionate about cinema, and my head is constantly overflowing with ideas.
Recently, I realized that if I wait for the "perfect time" or the "perfect budget" to make all of them, I'll never get them done. I need a radical approach to get these stories out of my head and onto the screen.
That is why, starting January 1st, 2027, I am taking on a ridiculously ambitious challenge: I am going to make 365 short films. One minute per film. One film per day.
This project isn't just a creative marathon; it is the launchpad for my entire career as a filmmaker. I have a long-term roadmap to master my craft:
• Phase 1 (2027): A film a day. (This campaign!)
• Phase 2 (2028): A film a week.
• Phase 3 (2029): A film a month.
• Phase 4 (2030): A film a season.
All of this discipline and training is building toward 2031, when I plan to direct my ultimate dream short film. But it all starts right here, with 01/01/27.
The Rules of the 2027 Marathon
• Quantity: 365 Films.
• Length: Exactly one minute each.
• Consistency: No days off. Come rain, shine, creative block, or exhaustion, a film goes up.
By the end of 2027, I will have a library of 365 stories—some funny, some tragic, some experimental—capturing a full year of life through a lens.
Where the Money Goes: The Milestones
Making a film a day isn't just time-consuming; it consumes resources. Hard drives fill up, equipment breaks, props are needed, and sometimes, I just need to feed the actors who are helping me out.
I have set up a tiered funding goal. Each milestone we hit unlocks a new level of quality for the films:
• Tier 1: The Survival Fund — $1,000
Bare minimum [GOAL MET!!! :)]
• Tier 2: The Art Department — $5,000
No more "using whatever is in my closet."
• Tier 3: The Collaborative Tier — $10,000
The scope of the stories expands beyond my living room.
• Tier 4: The Micro-Budget — $36,500
$100 per film.
• Tier 5: The Semi-Pro Tier — $50,000
High-polish indie filmmaking. This creates a safety net for bigger, bolder concepts. We can attempt visual effects, complex stunts (safely), or period pieces. This ensures that the "one minute" feels like a minute from a feature film.
• Tier 6: The Dream Scenario — $365,000
$1,000 per film. At this level, this becomes a professional studio production. I can hire a dedicated editor or cinematographer to work alongside me. We can pay actors professional rates. We can build sets. If we hit this, the 365 project becomes a high-end web series that could launch careers.
Risks & Challenges
The biggest risk with a project like this is burnout. Producing 365 films is a massive mental and physical endurance test. To mitigate this, I am spending the time between now and January 2027 pre-writing scripts, scouting locations, and building a "bank" of ideas so that when life gets crazy, the art doesn't stop.
Other Ways to Help
If you can't donate right now, you can still be a vital part of this project!
1. Share this campaign with fellow film lovers.
2. Watch the films starting Jan 1st, 2027.
3. Comment and engage—your ideas might spark the next day's film.
Thank you for believing in indie film and helping me build my career from Day One. Let's make some movies!
BTW, here’s some projects that I made in the past
