Help A Recovering Mom

Story

Hello, my name is Jennifer Lugo. My appendix ruptured and I need to recover. Since I can't work, my family needs financial help...My husband, Eugene, and I are high school sweethearts. We've been together over 14 years. We are hardworking people who both work retail. We have two small daughters. Genevieve, who is 6, and Lucy, who is 3. On Dec. 15, Genie (Genevieve) had a stomach virus. At 5am, she came crying to me that she vomited on her bed. So I got up and took action. I helped her get into the shower and began to clean her bed. While in the shower, she vomited again! Then she had diarrhea all morning. She vomited one more time at 1pm then knocked out! At 6pm, she woke up and said, "I feel better! I wanna go to school tomorrow!" So the next day, my girls went to school. I ran an errand all day. Once I got home at 5pm, I began to feel under the weather. So I knocked out for a few hours. When I woke up, I discovered that I had the stomach virus Genie had. But unlike Genie, I did not recover within 24 hours. Saturday, 5am, I was vomiting. I was sick for 4 whole days, then Lucy got sick too on Monday. So on Tuesday, December 20, I finally went to the doctor. Lucy recovered within 48 hours. But my doctor gave me a stool hardener. I took it on Tuesday night, all day Wednesday and Thursday. Then on Friday morning I realized that the medicine had been causing abdominal pain and constipation. I was constipated for over 3 days! So I stopped taking that medicine. On Christmas Day, I was still sick and miserable! I had to drink prune juice to get some type of relief. I finally went to the bathroom but the damage was done. My intestines have been on a horrible roller coaster ride for over 10 days! Monday, I took some Tylenol and worked through the pain. I was still constipated. But I tried to eat small things to help me go. So Tuesday, December 27, everything took a turn for the worse! I had a lot of pain. I called the doctor and asked if she can give me some ibuprofen for the pain. She told me no, I had to go see her. So I scrambled to get my girls ready and we walked over to the clinic. I waited a while...When she finally saw me, she pushed down on my stomach and said unlike last week, my stomach was rock hard. She kept pushing and pushing on it and made me cry. She said I reacted more to the pain on the right side. And that's dangerous because that's where my appendix is at. So she called the ambulance. I immediately called my mom and told her to pick up my girls. I didn't want to take them to the ER and traumatize them. By the time I finally got seen, the cat scan showed that my appendix had burst! Can you imagine the agony, the pain and the suffering I have endured for the past 10 days? I'm still in the hospital and I have no idea when I'll be allowed to go home or back to work! I am the foundation of my family, but right now, I feel broken. To my girls, I'm Super Mom! I'm never sick and I always put my family first. But right now, I need some help desperately. Being that we work retail, my husband and I have no sick time nor any vacation time accumulated. I fear that we will fall behind on rent and bills since I can't go to work any time soon. Please help me and my family
