Technically it is a Stage 4, however the oncologists are treating to cure the cancer because the cancer is just in all levels of breast lymph nodes but extend into the thoracic and mediastinum. (This is what makes it stage 4) since it isn't in any major organ, the oncologists want to try to give it the best shot and cure it.

Procedures and treatments began pretty quickly since the diagnosis. Although she is staying strong and fighting, she is extremely fatigued with chemo. Severe headaches hold her back from feeling "herself".

She has upcoming appointments with Mayo for additional scans and options. She has also been in touch with Chicago Integrative Medicine. Testing will be out-of-pocket expenses that insurance will not cover. The initial testing alone is $500, and infusion injections are $100-400 per injection. She is using FMLA for all of the appointments and time needed off work, reduced hours. She has always been able to take care of her family, and at this time in her life, she is in need of help from her loved ones and friends.
