Help Vicky Beat Cancer!

Hello everyone, my name is Bridget. If you know Vicky you may not know me and if you know me you may not know Vicky but are are sisters. We kinda look alike…like our mom. We have similar jobs and temperaments. Unfortunately, we also share a complicated and limited familial support structure, which is how we find ourselves here.
Recently, Vicky and her 14 year old son moved to Ohio from Delco, where we were all born. Upon arriving in Ohio, Vicky had a good job as a nurse that she really liked and a great apartment, and kiddo was set up to start a new school. Things were going well until recently when Vicky was suddenly diagnosed with AML(a leukemia more common among older folks). While Vicky is older than me and will always be ;) she is still young enough to be in a good position for aggressive treatment. This involves being inpatient for a month. She had to give up her job and will need to leave kiddo in the apartment with us so he can attend school.
As I mentioned(and if you know either of us you probably already know), we don’t really have a ton of family that we can ask for help. We have worked it out so that childcare(teen care?) is covered, fortunately. We are, however, seeking additional funds so that Vicky gets a small break from worrying about rent, bills, and being able to provide small joys for her son, who is also navigating this very challenging and new transition. If you are able and could find it in your heart to help a small family who is really trying their hardest to make a life for themselves, they would be eternally grateful.
