Hi! My name is Simba. I am a 5-year-old orange cat, and I live with my mom and dad in Grand Haven, MI. I love to take naps, play, cuddle, and eat so many treats!

In June of 2021, I was diagnosed with corneal erosion disease, and the following spring, I was diagnosed with another disease called eosinophilic keratitis. These diseases have been causing many problems for both my eyes. I have had several visits to the vet each year since and numerous rounds of very expensive eye drops and treatments. (And trust me, it was very hard for me at times to cooperate.)

But on Thursday, October 9th, 2025, while my parents were at work, my right eye ruptured because of my eye disease. I was rushed to the emergency room where the surgeon decided to remove what was left of my eye and sew it up. The plan was to take both eyes at the same time, but after being under for more than 3 hours, my heart rate dropped to an unsafe rate, and I had to be woken up before my left eye was removed. I will have to have the other eye removed in the next month to avoid another rupture. Fortunately, my primary vet will be able to do that surgery, but it will cost more money that my parents don’t have. If you are able to help with my surgery cost, even a few dollars, it will help in so many ways.
