On June 2nd our brother Patrick was involved in a near-fatal motorcycle accident, which we believe may have been a hit-and-run. Upon arriving at the ER, he was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage and rushed into emergency surgery. The procedure was successful, but Pat has a long road to recovery. He is currently improving slowly at the Elmhurst ICU and will likely be there for the rest of the month.

At this time, in addition to the head injuries we know that he has facial and neck fractures. Thankfully his breathing tubes were removed yesterday but he is not fully conscious, so a full assessment cannot be completed until more tests can be performed in the coming days.

If you know Pat, you know he’s a fighter with a big heart. Any support from his community will help him to overcome this distressing chapter. His loved ones are asking for financial aid to assist him with loss of work, offset medical and rehabilitation expenses, general costs for his family and partner to help him recuperate, as well as recovering damages to his motorcycle. They are also accepting Uber gift cards (for rides to and from the hospital and therapy once he is discharged), meals, pet care or fostering their cats if necessary, and direct donations for immediate needs which can be sent to his girlfriend Courtney, who is taking time off work to help every step of the way-
