Hi Team Taylor!

We know we ask a lot from our community of family and friends and they always come through for us.

Well here we are again, humbly asking for help one more time.  I say humbly because this truly is a humbling experience for all of us.  We have talked and debated and debated and talked about asking for help and we finally decided we will do anything we need to do to help Taylor get through this.

As some of you know, Taylor was diagnosed with cancer for a THIRD time on April 23rd, a carcinoma in his lung.  We are all grateful for the pneumonia that sent him to the ER that got the ball rolling this time.

I want to make sure everyone understands that Taylor is not angry over his diagnosis.  I will say there are plenty of others angry on his behalf but like he says, what good does that do?   The first thing Taylor said was, “Wow, I’m just happy it’s not in my head this time!”   He is too busy to be angry about anything.  Too busy working on his home.  Too busy making plans for improvements.  Too busy taking care of Cal and counting the days before he can go back to work.  He has been off now for a month, just tooooooo tired to do it.  He has a very physical job as a diesel mechanic and diagnostic technician.

If you are new to Team Taylor, here’s a short story to catch you up:   In 2003 when Taylor was 13 years old doctors discovered he had a brain tumor.  He had two brain surgeries, six months of chemo and a month of radiation. He was in and out of the hospital for over two months.  Fast forward to Christmas 2016, a sinus infection that wouldn’t go away which led to a CT scan which led to an MRI which led to a tumor in his sinus cavity behind his left eye.  Taylor was trying to finish school in Chicago, he only had 30 days left.  Well in typical “Taylor fashion” he decided the timing for a tumor couldn’t have been better.   He left school and work and lost his insurance and moved home to get treatment.  A little radiation vacation.  After 3 rounds of chemo and an unbelievable 35 days of radiation, his tumor was GONE!    These versions leave out all the ups and downs and twists and turns but you get the idea.

Taylor did go back to Chicago and finish school, got his degree and a job, bought a house, took his dog and moved in!  All the things you’re supposed to be doing when you’re 28 years old.

So here we are again doing the cancer thing one more time.  Taylor always makes it look easy, but you all know, it is not.   He started his 3rd round of chemo this week.  Once it’s complete, we’ll have MRI and CT to confirm we are going in the right direction!  Our oncologist at UofM is the best but he has encouraged us to get a 2nd opinion at MD Anderson in Houston.

Taylor has health insurance and we are so very grateful for that!  However, they don’t cover 2nd opinions on pathology or not working or house payments or any other “life” bills.   Tay has a monthly payment to UofM, still paying off his last cancer’s bills and now adding to it.

I am not saying any of that to make anyone feel sorry for him or us.  It just is what it is.   I am saying it because so many people have asked what they can do to help.  This is it.  This is what he needs right now, a little help to get through.

If you have given to Team Taylor in the past, THANK YOU.  If you do again, THANK YOU.  If you can’t right now, that’s okay too!

One last thing before I go.  PLEASE share this page.  PLEASE share it over and over so people can read Taylor’s story.   I know sometimes it feels like maybe you’re annoying your friends on FB by re-sharing, I feel that way too.    But if my sharing Taylor’s page one more time helps Taylor, I’m doing it!

We love each and everyone of you!   Whether you can give or not.   Just reading this and sending your love makes all the difference in the world.

Peace and light and love to you all.

Love, Peggy
