Cali’s Knee Surgery
Donation protected
Cali is a rescue pomerian-husky, aka a Pomsky. We are her third home, and have found that her right rear leg has some issues. We saw the orthopedic surgeon here in San Diego, CA, and found out that Cali’s knee joint never formed properly. Thankfully, the surgery is a permanent fix, and the rest of her legs are perfect. She’s only 5 years old, so she has over half her life ahead of her!
The groove at the base of her femur isn’t deep enough to hold her patella (little knee bone) in place, so her knee is sliding around, making Cali’s life very painful. The surgeon will need to create a deeper groove in the bottom of her femur, as well as shift her tibial tuberosity (the bony part on the front of her shin) laterally, so the tendon can help her knee better stay in place.
Unfortunately, we were not prepared for the nearly $6000 quote we were given. We are both in the service industry, and were severely impacted by Covid-19, so our savings have not recovered.
Anything you can give to help will mean the WORLD to us, and to sweet little Cali. Please share this page if you are able.
Sending love from our fur babies to yours,
