We are raising money for Bob Watkins, whom many of you know has been battling—with a smile—an incurable form of blood cancer for the last forty years.

Unfortunately, Bob's liver and kidney functions have been steadily declining due to the cancer, and he now must undergo dialysis at least three times a week. The dialysis has been further complicated by his being in stage four kidney failure. Two weeks ago Bob caught RSV while Contra dancing, and this led to him developing atrial fibrillation and spending six days in St. Joseph Hospital and then another night in Emory Hospital. He is home (for now) and facing $12,000 in medical bills. He has Medicare, but they only pay 80% and the $12,000 is his responsibility. He cannot work (he's very weak and in AFib much of the time) and will most likely need to undergo a procedure for his AFib. Many people have pitched in to help him with meals, home repairs and rides, but now he faces a big medical bill that he cannot pay.
