Hey guys, we are kindly asking for your help. Some of you may already know Achilles, and to those who don’t well he’s our sweet family dog. He was seen Friday morning in the emergency room due to being in pain, they could not figure out the source of his pain but sent him home with medications. Saturday morning we followed-up with his primary vet who was able to do blood work and x-rays. The imaging revealed narrowing of his discs, highly likely of a slipped disc in his lumbar region, and the vet diagnosed him with a spinal injury. They mentioned that these injuries are likely to happen at his age (9) and any jumping activity may cause it without direct trauma. He’s become immobile and he’s being referred to see a neurologist. We don’t know what the total costs of his expenses will be, he may need surgery, may need physical therapy. At this moment we are trying to manage his pain until he can be seen. He is still our sweet pup full of life, with some legs and a back in need of support.  ** just to update you all in this section, once again we thank you all for your generous donations and for supporting Achilles. Achilles is back home after being hospitalized and currently we are just managing his pain, as well as doing home exercises. Yesterday during his consult we were told that expenses would be a lot more than expected, roughly around 10-15K. We will continue to explore as many options as possible.
