First, I would like to wish everyone safe and healthy energy during these uncertain times. I know for some, giving is next to impossible right now, but every little bit helps. Today I am writing to raise money for my sister Sue. Many may know her as Susie, Susie Q, Aunt Sue, Grandma, or her favorite title, Mom. If you know Sue, you know her favorite things to talk about are her six beautiful children, and whatever arts and crafts project she is currently working on. Not long ago, it would have been hard not to find her knee deep in her garden or riding her bike around downtown Ithaca, but in June of 2018, a blood clot in her brain lead to a severe stroke.
She is now mostly paralyzed on her left side and suffers from frequent seizures. In many ways, we are lucky, she is still here, she is still her sassy, loving, creative self, she just needs a little help. Last week, Sue suffered a fall and broke her hip, a devastating blow, especially during the current medical crisis our country is facing. She now lives in the downstairs apartment of her son Levi’s house, a unit he used to rent out and relied upon for income. Being the only child still living in the area, much of her day to day care now falls on Levi’s shoulders. He hopes to hire an aid full time to hopefully alleviate the potential for further accidents that would require medical attention. Please help me help them. To assist with rent, medical bills, physical therapy, and daily expenses please consider donating.
These are two of the kindest souls I know and can think of few people more deserving of a little help, though they would never ask for it.
Stay safe, stay healthy and please stay home. With Love, Sally, Levi, Shawnessy, Ambreleah, Alysia, Zach, and Emily.
