Hello everyone! Thank you so much for taking the time to check out our fundraiser for the short film Paint Me A Ladder. Our film is written, directed, produced, and entirely filmed by University of Rhode Island students.
We are finishing up our pre-production phase and are trying to raise money for production costs, festival submissions, and a local screening (more information below). No amount of money is too small or too large. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!
About the Film
Logline: A retired naval captain at an assisted living confronts a painter-for-hire with a strange accusation and a simple request.
In Paint Me a Ladder, we aim to tell a story about those navigating the transitory period between life and death and the unexpected ways that human connection can affect how we confront our mortality.
Why Us? Why Now?
Our project started as an experimental new film class overseen by The Harrington School of the University of Rhode Island in collaboration with the Public Relations department. Our goal is to emulate the real filmmaking process. Many of us have already worked on small independent projects, but this is our opportunity to experience what it’s like being part of a crew on a much larger scale.
