Help Richard with his Recovery

Many of you know me, my name is Megan Griffith and many of you know that my family is riddled with addiction.

Recently my dad has gone into treatment. Like many of us, his life had become very unmanageable. He was heading towards deaths door and if the alcohol was not going to kill him, the lack of food due to money problems was going to. Lucky for me, the recovery community came together and helped me with getting him into a great treatment center. As he is getting better, my sister and I have been putting out little fires to make sure he doesn't completely lose everything by the time he is out. This has left us tapped for money. He is unable to apply for funding to help support this treatment center which leaves us with the bill as well. We are First Nations but sadly our band is not helping and I have exhausted all avenues there.

We have paid for 30 days and although it is a decent amount of time, for someone who has been an alcoholic until his 60's, he is needing more. Sadly, we are unable to fund this and his financial situation doesn't leave him with much either. Luckily this treatment center has given us some grace to figure it out.

I am not one to ever ask for donations or do something like this as my pride and independence are something I cherish. Sadly, due to being on mat leave and already paying for 30 days and outstanding bills, I am unable to fund the addition treatment that is needed.
